Objective: Provide long-term growth of capital.
Strategy: The Fund normally invests at least 65% of assets in equity securities of issuers domiciled in Europe or the Pacific Basin, ranging from small firms to large corporations. May invest up to 20% of assets in securities issued in developing countries. In addition to direct foreign investment, the Fund may purchase American and European depository receipts. May also invest in convertible securities and straight debt securities; no more than 5% of assets may be invested in debt securities rated below investment-grade.
Trading Restriction: Effective March 31, 2006, American Funds has added a trading restriction on its EuroPacific Growth Fund. Participants who transfer $5,000 or more out of the fund must wait a period of 30 days before they can transfer $5,000 or more back into the fund.
